Reverend Charles Dent was born and raised in the town of Wake Forest, North Carolina to the late John and Elizabeth Dent. Reverend Dent attended DuBois High School from grades one through the ninth. When North Carolina Public Schools began the stage of desegregation in 1968, he and one other black classmate decided to attend the then, all-white Wake Forest High School. In 1972, Reverend Dent graduated high school there and went on to pursue higher education in Louisville, Kentucky. In 1993 Reverend Dent graduated from Campbell University, Buies Creek, North Carolina with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology.
In 1973, Reverend Dent joined the United States Army 82nd Airborne Division and served for twenty years. During his tenure serving in the U.S military, he traveled to many countries including; Seoul Korea, Japan, and Germany, to name a few. After retirement, Reverend Dent became the owner of a nationwide manufacturer of homes and trucking company that he continues to operate today.
Reverend Dent has excellent Christian experience while serving under the pastoral leadership of Dr. Marvin Connelly, St. Augusta Missionary Baptist Church, Fuquay-Varina, NC. From 2005 until being voted as the new pastor of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, Wake Forest, NC in 2021, Reverend Dent has previously served faithfully in the capacities of Armor Bearer, Adult Sunday School Teacher, Trustee, Deacon, and Lead Associate Minister. Reverend Dent is also an active member of the Wake Baptist Association and is working to complete a degree in theology studies.
Reverend Dent is married to the beautiful Stephanie Berry Dent, who serves as the First Lady of MMBC. Reverend and First Lady Dent are the grateful parents of two sons; Rodney and Keith, and two grandchildren; Maliah and Justin.
